Winter on campus is humbling. You wake up, look outside, and immediately start negotiating with yourself. How much do I care today? How cold is it actually? Can I justify wearing something cute if I’m going to be trudging through snow to class?

Most days, the answer is no. Hence the Aritzia Super Puff, the sweats, the quiet surrender. But lately, I’ve been craving something more than just surviving winter. I still want to feel like myself, even if I’m late, under-caffeinated, and slightly slipping on ice.

That’s where accessories and small details have been saving me.

Jackets have obviously been doing most of the talking. Winter outfits don’t really exist without them. I’ve been gravitating toward jackets that feel a little dramatic for walking to class. Fur, leather, a long trench, anything that makes a regular outfit feel like a choice. Sometimes the jacket is the entire look, and honestly, that feels efficient.

Scarves have become essential, not just for warmth but for personality. The big ones you can wrap around your neck five times, the ones that feel slightly excessive. They add texture, movement, and a sense that you tried, even when you didn’t have much time.

I’ve also been loving sets lately, but not the obvious sweatshirt-and-sweatpants kind. More early-2000s inspired pieces. Zip-ups, fitted knits, matching tops and bottoms that feel styled without being uncomfortable. They’re easy, but they don’t feel lazy, which is key when you’re trying to look like you didn’t give up.

Color-wise, brown has completely taken over for me. Warm, rich browns that feel softer than black but just as versatile. Brown coats, bags, boots. It all feels grounded and expensive in a quiet way, even when the rest of the outfit is simple. I recently read a vouge article about the color brown coming back this season which I am all for.

And on days when everything else feels fine but my hair absolutely does not, head scarves and headbands have been coming in clutch. Adding something to your head instantly makes it look like you planned the outfit. Which, in winter, counts as a win.

I think what I’ve been realizing this season is that winter fashion doesn’t have to mean disappearing. Yes, I need to get to class. Yes, it’s cold. But finding small ways to dress with intention makes the days feel lighter. More like I’m participating in my life instead of just moving through it.

Sometimes all it takes is a good jacket, a strong accessory, and the decision not to let winter flatten your personality completely. This is just my inspo mood board for my winter fashion. And yes, you will probably still see me in the big black puffer and an alo sweatset underneath but for days when I need to feel more me, I will come back to this post for some inspo.

With love always and always.
